Guillermo del Toro - Pinocchio

Visionary director Guillermo del Toro announced in the year 2009 that he started working on a new stop-motion project. While filming the opening credits from ‘Hellboy II’ he got the idea to make a stop-motion version from the fairytale ‘Pinocchio.’ He will produce it together with the Jim Henson Company. For the art direction the team is working together with illustrator Gris Grimly, which is known for his dark childlike drawings. Gris illustrated a version from ‘Pinocchio’ once en gave the design his own dark twist. Because of the busy schedule of del Toro we have to be patient some more time.

The Dark Tower movie adaptation

I’ve read ‘The Dark Tower’ series by Stephen King and ever since I’m hoping someone will make movies out of them.  The serie contains great stories which are very hard to translate to the big screen. Universal announced that they will produce The Dark Tower TV serie and to fill the gaps in-between there will be three movies. Ron Howard is directing the first one, he is known from his work on ‘A Beautiful Mind,’ ‘Willow’ and ‘Angels and Demons.’  The big question is: Who will play Roland Deschain?

Asura's Wrath

I am looking forward to Capcom’s new title called ‘Asura’s Wrath.’ Asura has been betrayed by his fellow gods and now he seeks revenge. He has been stripped from his powers, but he can generate powers by becoming angry. I have a weak spot for Japanese over the top action games.

So far it looks like a combination of ‘Shadow of the Colossus,’ ‘Devil May Cry’ and ‘God of War.’ Based on the screenshots and trailers the style and gameplay look appealing. It’s not exactly going to be a hack ‘n’ slash game, I am expecting something more experimental than that.
