It's been three years since the announcement of Blizzard's 'Diablo 3.' I'd love to play this and I am keeping my fingers crossed for a 2011 release.

The Power of the Dark Crystal

The upcoming sequel to the story ‘The Dark Crystal’ from 1982 is called 'The Power of the Dark Crystal.' The story goes on where the first one stopped. The crystal bursts again and the world is in chaos. In cooperation with Jim Henson’s studio they’re producing the sequel and they’re going to use a combination of live puppets and CGI animation. Go gentle with the CGI guys. :)

From Dust

‘From Dust’ is the title of an upcoming game developed by Ubisoft. The look and feel are pretty much upgrades from the game ‘Populous’ from 1989 at a first glance. Players can manipulate the environment and the elements to build up living space for a rising tribe. Restructuring and manipulating the island to clear it for the villagers sounds great.

Game of Thrones

I love the series HBO are producing. I just watched season one from their new serie ‘Game of Thrones’ and concluded that HBO did it again. It’s storylines are based on the medieval fantasy books by George R. R. Martin’s ‘A Song of Fire and Ice.’ Too bad the series will continue in a while, next season airs next year (around april 2012) cause the cliffhanger from the ending is amazing. I am going to post the intro video here, the music and images are epic.

Anne Rice - The Vampire Chronicles

Anne Rice is a great writer, really a master of her art. I love all her books she wrote in the series ‘The Vampire Chronicles.’ Well, some more then the other ofcourse. I came in touch with her books when I was about seventeen years old. I knew the movie ‘Interview with a Vampire’ and was surprised that there were more stories in the universe of Lestat and Louis. In my opinion this is true vampire fiction, mythology and lore mixed in twelve books.

The Book of the New Sun - Gene Wolfe

Gene Wolfe is one of my favorite fantasy writers. The books about ‘Severian the Torturer’ (1980 - 1983) are impressive Science Fiction / Fantasy stories. Severian, together with his sword ‘Terminus Est’ travels through the land of Urth. Truly epic storytelling by the mastermind Gene Wolfe. The four stories from Severian's life have been collected in the bundle ‘The Book of the New Sun.’

Book 2: Claw of the Conciliator

Book 3: The Sword of the Lictor

Book 4: The Citadel of the Autarch

The Last Guardian

In the year 2009 the Japanese gamestudio ‘Team Ico’ announced that they are working on a new game. ‘The Last Guardian’ has been postponed to release in 2012 exclusively for the Playstation 3 platform. ‘Ico’ en ‘Shadow of the Colossus’ were the first games they designed, ‘The Last Guardian’ should breath out the same look and feel. I really love Shadow and Ico, so I am looking forward playing The Last Guardian. It don’t care that it (again) got a later release date, if this means that the game will be even better.
