Drive with Ryan Gosling

I am looking forward to the movie 'Drive.' The only thing I know (and want to know about it on forehand) is that actor Ryan Gosling is playing the role of 'The Driver.' He is a stuntman and is running some sort of deals for criminal during the nighttime.

War Wind RTS

In 1996 DreamForge Intertainment developed a new game called 'War Wind.' It was in the vein of the RTS style from Warcraft. It was really a very fun RTS to play, it had four very different races. The Tha'Roon,  Obblinox, Eaggra and Shama'Li. Each race had his own unique appearance and unique hero. Very nostalgic.

Pacific Rim, Guillermo del Toro returns

Good news. The movie ‘Pacific Rim’ will mark the return of Guillermo del Toro to the directors seat since Hellboy 2. Pacific Rim is a science fiction movie about ‘giant monsters versus giant robots.’ Humanity is deploying soldiers in giant mechanical suits to battle with colossal creatures. These creatures seem to emerge from a dimensional rift in the Pacific Ocean. Pacific Rim aims for a summer 2013 release.

The Wonderful Land of Oz (Marvel)

 

My latest post reminded me of the comics made by  Marvel. Artist Skottie Young and Eric Shanower brought the classic back to life with their great skills. The designs from the characters and the land of Oz are great, really a piece of art.

Oz: The Great and Powerful (2013)

I guess Sam Raimi's next project won't be a next movie about The Evil Dead. He's working on a prequel of the Wizard of Oz written by L. Frank Baum. The story is told from the viewpoint of the Wizard of Oz, it's about how he came to rule in the city. Bruce 'Ash' Campbell wil be starring in it, as well as Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz and James Franco as the Wizard. Johnny Depp passed on the role of the Wizard.

Ico / Shadow of the Colossus HD remake

Ico and Shadow of the Colossus have a special place in my heart. It’s great to hear that a HD remake of both games is coming out on the PS3. Team Ico provided an unique gaming experience with both games, I am very stoked to see how the HD rendering will show me the battles againt the Colossi. Now give us The Last Guardian please.

Real Steel

The movie 'Real Steel' is hitting the theaters soon. It's about a coach and his fighting robot, Hugh Jackman is starring in a lead role. The imagery around this movie caught my attention. Check the official website on http://www.steelgetsreal.com/

Gravity



In an interview with Guillermo Del Toro I found out about the upcoming movie named 'Gravity.' Sandra Bullock and George Clooney will play the leading roles. Bullock plays an astronaut who has to return to earth after a accident in space. The director from 'Children of Men' is aiming for a 2012 release.

Evil Dead remake?

There might be a fourth Evil Dead film. Bruce Campbell's reaction on the rumors were: 'Believe in the remake, Dawg! The Project is real. In the works. Cool as hell. Scary as hell.' Sam Raimi is working on the production of the movie. It's unknown if Bruce 'Ash' Campbell will return to the series.

It's been three years since the announcement of Blizzard's 'Diablo 3.' I'd love to play this and I am keeping my fingers crossed for a 2011 release.

The Power of the Dark Crystal

The upcoming sequel to the story ‘The Dark Crystal’ from 1982 is called 'The Power of the Dark Crystal.' The story goes on where the first one stopped. The crystal bursts again and the world is in chaos. In cooperation with Jim Henson’s studio they’re producing the sequel and they’re going to use a combination of live puppets and CGI animation. Go gentle with the CGI guys. :)

From Dust

‘From Dust’ is the title of an upcoming game developed by Ubisoft. The look and feel are pretty much upgrades from the game ‘Populous’ from 1989 at a first glance. Players can manipulate the environment and the elements to build up living space for a rising tribe. Restructuring and manipulating the island to clear it for the villagers sounds great.

Game of Thrones

I love the series HBO are producing. I just watched season one from their new serie ‘Game of Thrones’ and concluded that HBO did it again. It’s storylines are based on the medieval fantasy books by George R. R. Martin’s ‘A Song of Fire and Ice.’ Too bad the series will continue in a while, next season airs next year (around april 2012) cause the cliffhanger from the ending is amazing. I am going to post the intro video here, the music and images are epic.
